Ukraine Denies Iran’s Claim of Strike on Anti-Drone Depot in Dubai

Ukraine has just denied the claims that their anti-drone system depot at the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dubai, was destroyed by Iran.

Earlier today, Iran’s central military command announced that it struck and destroyed a depot in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which they described has the housing of Ukrainian anti drone system that is being used to support American forces around that region.

Iran’s State Television stated that the strikes were part of an ongoing operation against what they described as the US military presence in the Gulf.

Ukraine was quick to respond has they claim the accusations was false. The Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgiy Tykhy claimed that accusations was false further pointing out that Iran are familiar with making such false and disinformation operation.

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky was equally dismissive of such claims. On a video call with journalists, Zelensky, grouped these claims describing it has a usual propaganda coming from both Iran and Russia, further denying that any Ukrainians were harmed or that any depot was hit.

The back-and-forth between both countries also comes at a sensitive time. Multiple reports say Zelensky was in the Gulf over the weekend on an unannounced visit, during which Ukraine signed series of defense agreement with countries around the region.

Countries like Abu Dhabi and Kyiv agreed to cooperate on defense, with Saudi Arabia reportedly signing an air defense agreement with Ukraine. Qatar also announced its own deal with Ukraine on the same day.

Ukraine has spent years defending itself against the drones designed by Iran and launched by Russia, and by doing so has built up serious expertise in countering them. This knowledge is now in high demand across the Gulf, has a lot of those countries are being attacked from Iran.

Zelensky also confirmed that over 200 Ukrainian anti-drone specialists were already in or heading to the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
