After nearly a full day of negotiations between the United States and Iran in the capital of Pakistan, both countries came out without an agreement.
The negotiation which was held in Islamabad, Pakistan was reported to have lasted for 21 hours and included US Vice President JD Vance, Jared Kushner, and special envoy Steve Witkoff on the American side. Iran and Pakistan officials also participated in the negotiations. Despite the long hours, the two countries did not reach an agreement.
After the negotiation, Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, spoke to the press. He said Iran refused to accept Washington’s terms, further stating that the U.S. laid their “final and best offer” on the table.
He also made it clear that America needs Iran to give their words not to make nuclear weapons or even pursue the technology that could help them get there faster.
Iran also spoke about the negotiation. Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeli Baghaei said that the United States were making “excessive demand,” he wend further to say that nobody should have expected a full agreement from just a single negotiation talk. He also made it clear that the negotiation is not yet over.
Pakistan’s foreign minister, Ishaq Dar, urged both countries to come to an agreement, saying that the country as done it best by bringing the two countries together.
