Nigeria Releases Terrorism Financing List, Names and Groups Linked to Boko Haram, IPOB…..

The Nigerian government has released the names of people and organizations which are linked to the financing of terrorism in the country. 

Nigeria Sanctions Committee (NIGSAC) on their official website published the list of names under the category called “Nigeria Sanction List.” The List consists of names linked to different groups and regions. The list includes suspected members and financiers of Boko Haram, ISWAP, Ansaru, and IPOB. 

The list of names in the sanction list includes Abdulsamat Ohida, Mohammed Sani, Aburrahaman Abdurrahaman, Fatima Ishaq, Tukur Mamu, Yusuf Ghazali, Muhammad Sani, Abubakar Muhammad, Sallamudeen Hassan, Adamu Ishak, Hassana Isah, Abdulkareem Musa, Umar Abdullahi, Abdurrahaman Ado, Bashir Yusuf, Ibrahim Alhassan, Muhammad Isah, Salihu Adamu, Surajo Mohammad, Fannami Bukar, Muhammed Musa, Sahabi Ismail, Mohammed Buba, Adamu Hassan, Hasssan Mohammed, Usman Abubakar, Kubara Salawu, Rabiu Suleiman, Simonn Njoku, Godstime Iyare, Francis Mmaduabuchi, John Onwumere, Chikwuka Eze, Edwin Chukwuedo, Chiwendu Owoh, Ginika Orji, Awo Uchechukwu, Mercy Ali, Ohagwu Juliana, Eze Okpoto, Nwaobi Chimezie, and Ogumu Kewe. 

Takur Mamu, a name familiar by most Nigerians was said to have participated in the financing of terrorism in the country by receiving and delivering of ransom payment over the sum of $200,000 US dollars in support of ISWAP terrorists for the release of hostages of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack. 

Another name among them is Simon Njoku, he is said to have raised 49 fundraisers in different countries between October 2023 to September 2024. Simon is also suspected of having ordered attacks through his social media handles, mainly X (formerly named Twitter) on government facilities across the southeast, which has led to the loss of lives of security personnel and government buildings. 

Organizations named in the list include JAMA’ATU WAJIHAD, ANSARUL SUDAN (ANSARU), Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP), Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Yan Group, and YAN GROUP NLBDG.
