The missing US pilot crew member who has been hiding in Iran after it was shoot down has been rescued and brought back to the United States. 

United States president, Donald Trump, announced the successful rescue on Sunday, which he described has one of the bravest operations in American history. 

The crew member which was later identified as a colonel and also the weapons system officer on the F-15E Stike Eagle which was shot down by Iran on Friday. He spent nearly two days hiding in the mountain of Iran with injures has Iranian forces search the terrain looking for him. 

According to multiple reports, it was said that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had deliberately spread false information in the country that the missing crew member had been recovered by the US and was being transported by road, while the searchers focused on the false information the CIA was able to locate and pass the coordinates of the crew member to the military. 

During the rescue operation, some of the personnel on board were injured because of the shot fired by Iranian forces on the ground due to how low the rescue helicopters were flying. 

The war is escalating further as Iran has launched fresh missile and drone attacks to Isreal, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirate (UAE) and Bahrain over the weekend. 

Two building in Dubai were hit by the debris of intercepted drone and Bahrain also reported a refinery fire. 

There was also a strike around Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant on Saturday which killed one security guard, this led to the evacuation of the workers in the facility. Iran’s foreign minister condemned the attack saying that further attack on the nuclear power plant could cause nuclear contamination. 

Trump had on a previous post on his social media account that Iran had been given 48 hours to make a deal or will face the consequences. Iran’s military replied calling the threat “helpless” and “stupid,” with one of Iran general replying to back to Trump saying that “the gates of hell will open” for the US.
