Matchday one of the ESUT VC Games 2026 Inter-Faculty Football Tournament really lived up to the hype and expectations as all faculties participating in the tournament showed a very high level of competitiveness.
The matchday brought out several fans supporting their various faculties at the ESUT Field, which is the main venue for the tournament. With early points at stake, no faculty held back, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting tournament.
Law (2) vs Social Science (1) –Match Reports
The opening match of the VC football tournament saw the Faculty of Law defeat the Faculty of Social Science in a very tight game. Law started very well, pressing high and controlling possession in the early stages of the match.
Their highline press paid off when Elaskaa scored the first in the first half with an outside shot. Social Science also made several attempts to score in the first half, but they kept being stopped by an organized and strong law defense.
Law’s second goal came in the second half when a foul was made in the box by a Social Science player, and penalty was given to Law. Notorious who stepped up to take the penalty delivered a nice penalty.
Social Science responded with a goal deep into the second half extra-time, with Sancho dribbling past three law players before taking the shot outside the box.
Pharmacy (1) vs Allied Sciences (2) –Match Reports
The Faculty of Pharmacy put up an impressive performance against Allied Sciences but failed to take the win. Allied Science took the early lead as Paul scored the first goal.
In the second half, Paul scored the second goal doubling the lead for Allied Science, after a defense mistake from the Pharmacy players. A few minutes after the second goal, Pharmacy responded with a goal scored by Joseph.
Pharmacy pushed for a second goal but they were denied by the players of Allied Science.
Biological Sci. (0) Vs Engineering (1) –Match Reports
One of the standout games of Matchday One came between Biological Sciences and Engineering. Engineering showed pressing intent from kickoff and made an attempt on goal anytime they were chances, making a total of 14 shots (8 – Shot on target) in the first half alone.
Biological Science, on the other hand, was also pressing but were more on the defending side. The second half also continued in the same way as the first half.
Fans and supporters of both teams already sensing a draw after the extra-time of the second half was coming to end were left in shock after a foul made in the box by a Biological Science defender to Obere lead to a penalty.
Engineering left winger, Shaba stepped up to take the penalty and scored. The match ended as Engineering somehow squeezed a win in the last minute.
Physical Sciences (0) vs Environmental Sciences (3) –Match Reports
Environmental Sciences produced a wonderful performance against Physical Sciences, controlling and dominating the game from start to finish.
Environmental player, Timothy opened the first goal and added another a minute later with a shot fired from half the pitch. Later in the second half, Environmental Sciences added one more goal which was scored by Peter, as they completed a convincing victory.
Physical Sciences struggled to find a way back into the match as Environmental Sciences maintained their defensive and attacking discipline throughout the entire match.
Agric (1) vs BAMSAA (1) -Match Reports
The Agric and BAMSAA match was a balanced and competitive contest. Agric took an early lead as Nelson scored the opener after a mistake from the BAMSAA captain. Agric played well in the first half, dominating both in possession and shots.
BAMSAA responded with a goal scored by Smart in the second half. Both sodes pushed for the winning goal in the second half, but neither team could find the breakthrough, which resulted in the sharing of points.
Management Sciences (8) vs ESUMSA (0) -Match Reports
Management Sciences delivered the most emphatic result of matchday one with a controlling performance against ESUMSA. From the opening minutes, Management Sci. dominated the game in ball possession and created many scoring opportunities.

Management Sciences attacking efficiency was evident as they scored eight goals, sealing a brilliant victory and sending a strong message to other teams in the competition.

With matchday one already completed, attention now turns to the fixtures of matchday two as faculty teams aim to build momentum and strengthen their chances of qualifying from the group stages.
