ESUT LAWSA to Host Three-Day Class Tour on Faculty Statutes

The Law Students’ Association (LAWSA) of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Agbani, just announced a three-day class tour for the students in order to educate students on the rules guiding activities within the Faculty of Law.

The programme, which is titled “Navigating ESUT LAWSA Statutes: A Class Tour,” is being organized by the Attorney General’s office of LAWSA in partnership with the SUG Chairman on Judicial Affairs. The programme is said to be designed for law students in 100 to 300 levels.

According to the organizers, the goal of the class tour is to help and ensure that the students understands the rules which regulates academic and social life within the faculty. They further stated that many students are are not fully aware of this rules, even though they apply to everyone.

The Attorney General of ESUT LAWSA, Ali Godwin Kelechukwu (Esquire Crescendo), said the initiative is focused on creating awareness and encouraging responsibility among the students. He noted that knowing the law is important because student can’t claim ignorance when rules are enforced.

The organizers also stated that law students, in particular, should be familiar with the regulations guiding their own faculty, further referencing the legal principle that ignorance of the law is not an excuse.

The SUG Chairman on Judicial Affairs, Egbo Chibueze (Bezito), described the programme as a positive move that will promote a culture of legal awareness and discipline within the faculty.

The class tour is also expected to have interactive sessions where students can ask questions and get answers on how the statutes affect them.

Overall, the organizers believe that the initiative will improve students’ knowledge of LAWSA laws and further strengthen order, accountability, and respect in the ESUT Faculty of Law.
