ESUT Extends Verification and Registration for Newly Admitted Students to January 16

The management of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has extended the deadline for the verification and registration of the newly admitted 100 level students to January 16, 2026, following low compliance recorded so far.

This was disclosed in a memorandum issued by the Office of the Registrar and addressed to all students of the university. The memo, dated December 19, 2025, revealed that only about 50 percent compliance had been achieved for the registration of new students, while less than 10 percent of continuing students had completed their registration as of that date.

According to the Registrar, the extension became necessary after a report from the Task force on Registration of Students highlighted the poor turnout.

“Arising from the report of the Task force on Registration of students, it has been observed that 50% compliance as at 19th December, 2025 has been recorded on registration of new students, while less than 10% recorded for continuing students,” the statement read.

The management has now graciously approved an extension of the registration deadline to January 16, 2026, for both new and returning students. However, the university warned that failure to meet the new deadline will attract sanctions.

“Beyond this date, appropriate sanctions will be meted out to defaulters as may be determined by Management,” the memo stated.

The Registrar further directed all Deans, Heads of Departments, Faculty Officers, ICT faculty representatives, and Admission Registration Officers to ensure full compliance with the directive.

The memorandum was signed by the Registrar, Ambrose G. Ugwu, and copied to key university officials, including the Vice-Chancellor, Deans of Faculties, and the Dean of Student Affairs.

Students are therefore advised to take advantage of the extended window and complete their verification and registration processes on or before January 16 to avoid any penalties.
