AFCON 2025: Super Eagles Extend Unbeaten Run with 3–1 Win Over Uganda

Nigerian Super Eagles extends their unbeaten run at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a convincing 3-1 win over Uganda in their final Group C fixture at the Fez Stadium in Morocco on Tuesday.

28th minute into the match, Paul Onuachu broke the deadlock, finishing from close range after connecting with a low cross from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to hand the Super Eagles a well-earned lead before the break.

The Nigerian Super Eagles controlled the early minutes of the match, carving out several chances as Uganda struggled to contain Nigeria’s fluid movement on the ball

After halftime, the Super Eagles kept on pressing and on the 62nd minute when Samuel Chukwueze delivered a neat pass into the box for Raphael Onyedika, who showed great composure with a tidy first touch before shooting the ball into the left side of the net

Onyedika added his second, shooting a low shot into the bottom right corner of the net after a beautiful cut-back followed by a pass from Chukwueze.

Uganda, already down to 10 men, managed to score a consolation goal in the 75th minute as Okello gave through pass to Mato, who calmly chipped the ball over Francis Uzoho, Nigerian goalkeeper.

The Nigerian Super Eagles Finish first in Group C with all nine points, whereas Uganda at the bottom with one points.
