The Federation of Enugu West Students (FEWS), ESUT chapter, announced a new date for the Inaugural Football Tournament and Executive Celebration. 

The tournament, which was originally meant to start on January 16, 2025, is now postponed kicking off on January 18, 2026. This was changed so has to ensure that more students are present on campus to participate in the activities. 

The Director of Health and Sports for FEWS, Sen. Nkedife Nora, popularly known as LilyNora explained that the reason for the change is because of the many students who have not yet resumed, which may lead to low turnout of students. Further, stating that the change was necessary so that the tournament could attract more participants and supporters. 

The tournament will feature teams representing the different local government areas in Enugu West which include Udi, Ezeagu, Agwu, Oji River, and Aninri. The tournament will also serve as celebration for the newly elected FEWS executives as they begin their leadership. 

The organizers also apologized to the students for the inconvience in the change of schedule. With the new date in place the organizers expect large attendance and a lively tournament that will promote unity among students from Enugu West in Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
