Anthony Joshua Involved in Road Accident Along Lagos–Ibadan Expressway

Renowned boxer Anthony Joshua was reportedly involved in a road accident on Monday in Makun, Ogun State.

According to reports, the incident occurred shortly after 11am along the busy Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.

The black Lexus SUV conveying Joshua, with registration number KRD 850 HN, was said to have been speeding when it lost control while attempting to overtake and crashed into a stationary truck parked by the roadside.

Joshua was said to have sustained minor injuries, while two occupants of the vehicle died instantly.

The crash reportedly happened near Danco Filling Station in Makun, close to the Sagamu Interchange on the Ibadan-bound lane of the expressway.

Sources said Joshua was seated at the back of the vehicle alongside another passenger, while two others occupied the front seats, making four people in total inside the Lexus at the time of the accident.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. It was confirmed that the front-seat passenger and the individual seated beside Joshua died on the spot.

Joshua, who was born to British-Nigerian parents, attended a boarding school in Ikenne, located just a short distance from where the accident occurred.

Following the incident, fans have taken to social media to express concern and send messages of support, while authorities continue investigations to determine the exact cause of the crash.
